Could you explain why I, V of IV, IV, and IV minor works? why is there F minor at the end? I can see that Ab is only a half step from G (Vth degree) so it's a sharp V that moves to G in the bass (2nd inversion of C)

I’ve always viewed them as piano chords. If you ever play Billy Joel tunes or any other tunes composed on piano you’ll get tons of slash chords everywhere. It just happens because of the strong left hand movement. Trying playing Piano Man on guitar … it’s beautiful… Or Bowies Life on mars

Thanks for the video. I always wonder if we have to know perfectly notes within chord to understand that it is an inversion? I mean if we see C/B, some would know that B is the 7th of the C maj chord but some would not. Is there any rule for that?

Literally spent years confused about slash chords like aren’t they just inversions and I got a bunch of “yes, but no” answers without any reasonable explanation.
